“‘Acid’ was the watchword of the summer of ‘88. Acid house was everywhere; Shoom and The Trip were the two biggest clubs in London and our label became connected to the zeitgeist. Our records weren’t acid house but were genuinely progressive, and sometimes used its techniques. People still find it hard to understand that we were just another part of the Special Branch/acid house scene. We were the part that didn’t exclusively play house. It was the same attitude, the same drugs, and the same sense of being on the cusp of a genuine youth revolution.” Eddie Piller
