Pure pop for kids of all ages when pop was pop and teenagers had acne to sing about. He used a great guitarist as well!
A fistful of Fabian on this chunky, hunky 26 tracker, for lovers of teen idols the world over. They don't come much more teen idol than Fabian. Fabian's career was launched in 1958 with "I'm A Man", which was barely true for one so young. It scored a not so resounding top 31 position on the Billboard charts, but that did not get the young idol down and he swiftly recovered with a number 9 smash "Turn Me Loose", followed three months later with his biggest smash, "Tiger Man" which hit the number 3 slot. By the end of 59 he had had his last top 10 hit with "Hound Dog Man", which was also his only U.K. chart appearance. By the end of 1960 the hits had dried up and with "Kissin' & Twistin" his meteoric 22 month career had peaked. So a career that was short, undoubtedly sweet, not I must say distinguished by the best singing of our time, but endearing, and featuring some real neat guitar playing. Teen innocence, where are you now?
