Joe Simon goes country for these back to back albums on CD. It is not in fact that much of a jump from the soft soul of Joe Simon to the country version. There is a history of black country music from Arthur Alexander to Charlie Pride and Joe Simon slots nicely into this lineage. Credits include Scotty More (engineering) Jack Clements of Sun Records fame and songs from Kris Kristofferson (yes that one), Marty Robbins, Joe South, Bobby Bare and Billy Sherrill. Superb Nashville production and great performances from Simon make for a welcome reissue of these original albums, cut in '71 and'73 respectively.
