Limited edition of 1000.
This EP is designed for collectors who have found some of the tracks on our “It Came From The Garage” CD a little hard to find on vinyl, or too expensive – the combined auction value of original pressings of three of the tracks would be around £600, and if you wanted the bootleg LP that used our title track, you’d need another £100 on top! Rounding off the package is a previously unreleased gem from the New Breed, who made their first appearance on that CD.
Downey Records were looking for something to follow up their hits by the Rumblers and the Chantays. In the three years following those early successes the kind of music enjoyed by American teenage audiences changed. Along came a whole new sound, first with the British Invasion groups, followed by the folk rock movement emerging from Los Angeles. The quartet of garage punkers contained here are great examples of how those influences affected the Downey sound.
